Hype of the week: Tron

Film: Tron Legacy
Director: Joseph Kosinski
So I kinda forgot to post last week’s hype of the week, but this was only due to no spare time whatsoever and truthfully – no inspiration. Honestly, every filmproject I’m looking forward to doesn’t come out in like a year or two! Ignoring Deathly Hallows (Part I) of course. And then to my pick of this week’s hype. An odd one, to say the least, I’m not quite sure why this sudden mustwatchnow-urge (seriously, it felt like that) was filled within me after watching the trailer. Inner geekdom perhaps. Anyways, having not seen the 1982 prequel, I basically have zero knowledge about the plot or history behind this film. The first I can live without (my philosophy is the less you know, the better) but the second is far more interesting. Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner reprise their roles as Kevin Flynn and Alan-Tron-Bradley, while previous director Steven Lisberger now returns as the producer. Lisberger’s the guy who came up with Tron in the first place. We’ll just have to wait and see if it’ll be worth our while on December 17th. But check out the trailer dudes, it reeks of awesome cyberspace and supersleek visuals.

Useless (it’s a matter of opinion) facts:
* Daft Punk are the composers of the entire film score
* On October 28th, 2010, a 23-minute footage of the movie was broadcasted on many IMAX Theaters all over the world. The tickets for this event were sold out within an hour.
